About me
¡Hola!I am Marina a psychotherapist in advanced year of training, counsellor and psychologist. I have been living abroad for nine years now, but from an early age I experienced what it meant to belong to two places: the vibrant city of Barcelona and a really small town surrounded by beautiful nature.
Growing up between these contrasting environments I felt both were dear to me but I didn’t belong to any at the same time.
I always had big curiosity about different countries, cultures, and languages. It also shaped my understanding of belonging, identity, adaptation, and grief.
My academic background is in psychology, which I studied in Barcelona. After completing my degree, I moved to Scotland, as my curiosity to explore the world felt stronger than my desire to remain in Spain and follow a more conventional career path.
In Scotland, I began training in counselling and psychotherapy, specialising in Transactional Analysis. This journey has opened up an entirely new perspective for me and continues to shape both my personal and professional development.
My life and training have shaped the way I work, expanding both what I can offer in my private practice and my overall vision of therapy. Over the years, my approach has evolved significantly, and I have developed a particular interest in deepening my knowledge of bodywork and psychoanalysis.
I offer therapy in different languages, being mainly English, Spanish and Catalan at the moment.
Relational Wounds
My training in Transactional Analysis and Systemic Therapy has shaped my approach to understanding individuals within the context of their relationships, communication patterns, and unconscious dynamics. I specialize in supporting people who carry relational wounds—not just by exploring what happened to them, but also by shining a light on what never did: the unmet needs, absent connections, or silenced experiences that continue to echo in their present relationships.
The Inner Critic and Perfectionism
I also feel deeply connected to the processes of the harsh inner critic, perfectionism, and high standards. These patterns can make life feel heavy, bringing pressure, stress, and fear. It’s an area I continue to explore, both personally and professionally, to better support those walking this path.
What can I help you with
Over the years and the more I have been immersing myself in therapy the more I have been finding, what is that I feel drawn too and moves me.
Grief has been a significant part in my life, which has influenced my curiosity and learning how to hold and support that process for others.
Cross culture, Migration and Belonging
I specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating the emotional and psychological challenges of migration. Migration isn’t just about moving, it’s about the process of leaving parts of yourself behind and the struggle to belong in a place that feels foreign. Cross-cultural experiences can shake our sense of identity, belonging, and self, and I’m here to help you find your way through it.

How I work
-
The nature of my work is rooted in long- term psychotherapy, holding an integrative and relational focus, which means our therapeutic relationship becomes a small mirror of your wider relational world, opening up opportunities to notice patterns, bring them into awareness, and gently begin to transform them.
I am an anti-racist practitioner committed to an anti-oppressive approach, which means I actively challenge systemic inequalities and power imbalances in therapy to create an inclusive, equitable, and intersectional space. I also bring a gender-affirming perspective to my work.
-
With training in different schools of therapy as Transactional Analysis (TA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My way of working is integrating modalities in a way that adapts to your needs in the process.
I like to explore and understand your inner world and experience, deepen awareness of the present to and then focus on taking small, meaningful steps aligned to your values.
-
The way I see therapy as co-created space, where the relationship allows to explore with curiosity, putting light on things that sometimes skip awareness and consciousness.
Embodying and making sense of your experience gives you the agency to act aligned with your own personal values.
- C.G. Jung -
“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.”

FAQ
5
How can I start sessions with you?
1
First, you can complete the form below or send me an email to arrange a free initial consultation. If we agree after this meeting that we would like to work together, we will arrange a regular appointment time that suits you.
How does the first consultation look like?
2
It is a 20-minute meeting that gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, briefly explore your therapeutic needs, answer any questions you may have about how therapy works, and consider whether we might be a good match.
6
What is the frequency of the sessions?
3
I work on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Ideally, weekly sessions are needed at the beginning of the process for in-depth work. With time, the frequency can be reduced to fortnightly sessions.
I understand that weekly sessions may not be affordable for everyone, and fortnightly sessions can also be effective. However, I am unable to offer sessions less frequently than fortnightly, as this can interrupt the therapeutic process.
What is your cancellation policy?
4
A 24-hour notice period is required for the cancellation of sessions. If the session is not cancelled with enough notice, the full charge will be requested to be paid.
I don’t make use of AI in my practice. From note taking and studying to creating resources or content. As much as I may use it for small tasks as proof reading, I believe strongly on the human process of learning, creativity and community which I think it is important to protect it.
How do the montly sessions work?
Long-term therapy requires consistency and regularity to be effective and to facilitate deep work. Payments are made monthly. I offer flexibility to reschedule sessions due to holidays, work changes, or illness, and payments will be adjusted accordingly.
